Hi, since the 5.1 been havin loads of issues. Phone not ringing, alarms not ringing, random start ups and heat...since i found a propable solution from the forum for the sound now i cant back up my phone through PC companion.
It reaches at a point of 1/4 during the backup and then the phone hangs and restarts. Wanted to backup so i could to do a factory reset to solve all those issues but no luck..
Should i repair via PCC and reinstall software??? will i lose my data ???
Any suggestions???

@xavinux My data are stored in both places, dont want to backup sd because it wont be erased. So i havent checked any data from the SD. Im trying to back up from internal storage through manual selection. But even if i try without manual selection to backup from internal i get the same result.
Just tryied to back up unticking OTHERS and it backs up. Checked everything else like messages settings calendar and manual selection and its working. But cant figure out what kept it from going. What kind of files are backed up when you select OTHERS i really dont know.
Now shoud i proceed with the factory reset? or will i lose data from the SD ?
Hi @phone-user
In this case I suggest first boot your device into safe mode:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/m-p/348008#U348008
Then run a backup of the device information like this:

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion:
http://support.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
This will factory reset your phone and erase all data. You might need tocharge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery. Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device). Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process. If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP.
In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone -> Start on Update the phone/tablet software -> Repair phone/tablet (the blue
clickable link in the message) -> Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.
Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.
If it's not possible to perform this software repair, you could check the following FAQ topic regarding USB connection problems:

@xavinux im afraid is not working either, after rebooting into safe mode PCC gets stuck at the same point and hangs up. i have to cancel the backup process to make the app work again plus the phone restarts on its own during the hangup.
its like smt keeps it from backing up
what shoud i do now??? it seems i cant bakup at all
Hi @phone-user
Where are all your data stored, in the internal memory or in the SD Card ?

Hi @phone-user
Other backup Apps with or without data depending on application support.

Best Regards,
I would advise that you uncheck "others" anyways, because it might be an app that caused all the sound or restarting issues so you would want to skip this.
On the other question, repairing your phone while SD card is inserted will NOT erase the data on the SD card.
thats what i did and made it,
