non vaio help needed

hi,
at the moment my viao is having a new screen fitted. so i am using my car computer in doors.
it only has usb 1.1 so i got a 4 port, usb 2.0 pcmcia card. so i can use my dvd-rw. the computer finds the pcmcia card and it finds anythink i run using it. but i tryed to write data to the dvd-rw and it wont work. i pluged the dvd-rw into the usb 1.1 and it worked fine.
does anyone have any idears what could be wrong apart from a faulty pcmcia card.

Spider,

most external powered devices are a bit picky about working with pcmcia usb cards.

you could try adding a power supply to the pcmcia card, it might work.

Also make sure you have power going to the DVD drive.
