Good day.
I've bougth my z3c this winter. in july i've noticed that front screen on my sony is "unglued".
there was a thin gap between body and screen. Unfortunately, i did'nt made a picture of it. And, obiviously, my phone lost all waterproof features.
So, i took my phone to the official service. Two or three week later, they called me and told, that phone is ready, it's completely repaired.
In servise i checked a pressure sensor from service menu, and result was completely failed. Numbers did not changed while i pressed on screen.
Service centre took phone back and few day later they called again and told, that phone is ready.
As proof, they showed me two screensots (see below), BUT! service pressure sensor check failed again! Numbers hold still, when i pressed on screen.
An operator on a hotline Sony trying to ensure me that everything is OK, my phone is completely repaired, but i doubt. Mostly because of Pressure Sensor Test FAIL.
So please, dear Admins, tell me, can i trust my Official service centre? Does this software (on a screenshots) really exist and i can stop paying my attention on Service Menu check results?
Sorry for my English.
Solved! Go to Solution.
As Thommo says, accessing that menu will not void your warranty.
What i think they meant to say is that this menu is not intended for end users.
This is not something we are equipped to comment on as we are merely members like yourself.
Sorry to hear that you've had issues with your phone.
Yes, this software and test exists and the picture they have provided shows that your phone has passed our vacuum test.
The phone is not sealed against air pressure so it's not certain the pressure sensor will react when you press the display.
Much obliged for your answer.
I was so suspicious in all that situation.
Sincerely hope that everything will be ok.
Love sony products, was really dissapointed with that trouble.
WBR, Dvoechnick.
Oh! and one more little question.
Support told me, that it's not allowed to use special menu *#*#7378423#*#* for such users, like me.
Does that mean, that i can lose my warranty?
@dvoechnick What a load of nonsense as there's an app called diagnostics which is the same and the service menu ie: The code can be used to test hardware to be sure that an app etc isn't the cause of an issue
You will not loose warranty but there are few options there that can do a real mess (like changing permanently radio band) so if something looks suspicious there Google it before changing.
