I bought the Z1 Compact because the battery life was amazing. At the end of a day (about 7pm) I would still have over 60% battery life. Since upgrading to Android 5 my phone is worse than an iPhone, I am down to about 30% by 5pm. I have pressed the orange button by the sim, I have enabled every power saving option going apart from the ones that completely castrate the phone and there is no improvement. Not only that but it seems to only run 1 core of the CPU making it completley sluggish and frequently non responsive. Android 5 an upgrade? No way it is 10 steps backward. Please provide detailed and accurate instructions to allow me to revert to 4.4.4.

For me the problem seems to be with google services. Anytime I run any of the google services like play store for example, the battery drains super quickly and the phone shutsdown. And also wifi seems to be on all the time, which might be due to the google apps using wifi in the background. Still haven't done a pcc reset. will report back if I see an improvement once that is done.

So i recently updated my phone from 14.5.A.0.242 to 14.5.A.0.270, hoping new features would be implented. Sony introduced a 'close all' button in the recent apps tab, which is a good thing. However, after updating, I'm facing serious problems.

People can't hear me well in a call. They are telling that my voice sounds disorted and sounds like i am talking from underwater :smileyshocked:. After updating once, I had this issue. I did a system repair via PC companion, and managed to solve the issue. Today, however, the problem came back. I tested the microphone in phone diagnostics in 'About Phone', and the microphone had no issues and passed the test. But this happens only when I make a call. I tried making a call with earphones, still the problem persisted.

Another issue is display brightness. After updating to 14.5.A.0.270, I have noticed the display brightness went down.

So, can anyone help me?

Under Settings -> Call -> Turn off Microphone noise suppression and check if problem persists.

For brightness: Under Settings -> Display -> Turn off Adaptive brightness.

Where did you find the update14.5.A.0.270? My Sony Update centre only shows 14.5.A.0.242.

After upgrading to lollipop, wifi is terribly slow maybe 50 kb/s, and disconnecting all the time, also voice call quality is terrible. Hope they will fix it soon, or make a easy downgrade available. or buying some other phone
