Android 5 has ruined my phone

I bought the Z1 Compact because the battery life was amazing.   At the end of a day (about 7pm) I would still have over 60% battery life.  Since upgrading to Android 5 my phone is worse than an iPhone, I am down to about 30% by 5pm.  I have pressed the orange button by the sim, I have enabled every power saving option going apart from the ones that completely castrate the phone and there is no improvement.  Not only that but it seems to only run 1 core of the CPU making it completley sluggish and frequently non responsive.  Android 5 an upgrade?  No way it is 10 steps backward.  Please provide detailed and accurate instructions to allow me to revert to 4.4.4.

Updated last night. Phone now very slow. Screen goes black and side button doesnt bring it back to life. Have to wait a few minutes. Like it freezes. Programs freeze that worked before. Some won't even open. Lock screen white notifications messages - hate them, want them off, I can't see the clock!

Well finally the phone works as it used to.  The 5.1.1 update now gives a battery life in line with the battery life I had in 4.4.4.   Took a while but you got there in the end Sony (PS the WiFi now turns off properly when the phone goes into standby)

Please give us the info. I stayed on 4.4.4 so far in order to have the good battery life on my device.

These are supposed to be Updates not Downdates so why people should have to reinstall only to find the same problem again and again seems completely insane and an unnecessary stress caused by either android or Sony incompetence! What a shambles!¡!¡¿!

I personally never upgrade as I never have the same phone for any longer than two years.

I am on 5.1.1 (14.6.A.1.236), updated and repaired a week ago. I am getting 2 days battery life, in line with 4.4.4.

Quite pleased with it.
