I have tried closing all tabs. I still get the error whenever I open a webpage off my facebook wall.

You are sure that all tabs are closed and you just didn't swipe Chrome from recent apps? If your phone is updated to Android 5.0 apps and tabs will be merged by default. You can turn that off from Chrome -> [menu -> Settings. To the right of the address bar you should then see a box with a number telling you how many tabs you have open.

As clearing data for Chrome helped for a while it makes me believe this is the cause.

But if it's not, i recommend that you try if the same thing happens on another internet connection.

check it ...it describes my problem with ads...90% of sites give same ad...10% no ads <.< i hated that

If this happens also in safe mode, i would suspect the internet connection. You're not using any free ad supported internet connection or something like that? It could for example be that when the phone makes a DNS-request, the DNS returns another page (an ad).

I think it's time to repair the phone with PCC > once you are done with that > do NOT enter your Gmail account > test chrome and report back.

One does give you an solution w/ root access but you must repair your phone with PCC, again, it seems to be malware on your phone and a virus on your computer
