trusted nfc device

There doesn't seem to be an option to add a trusted NFC device on the xperia XZ? Am I missing something?

Hi @birty, Welcome to the community.

The Smart Lock feature may not be available in every market, country or region. But under Settings > Lock screen & Security > Smart Lock. you will find the option for Trusted Devices. You can add any bluetooth or NFC devices here.

@birty,

Here's the instructions on this from the user guide:

To add a trusted NFC device

  1. Make sure your device is paired and connected to the Bluetooth® device that you want to add as a trusted device.
  2. Find and tap Settings > Lock screen & security > Smart Lock.
  3. In the Smart lock menu tap Trusted devices > Add trusted deviceNFC.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If it is still not there, I would have to refer to the first part of my comment. It may not be available in every market, country or region.

Different regions have different laws and requirements. An example of this is the fingerprint scanner being disabled in the USA but not other markets. Other reasons include network specific firmware that may have not included a particular function for what ever reason.

I can not say if your specific unit has this functionality disabled or why, but if you are unable to see the same information that I do then it seems likely.
