Replacement battery

Where can I purchase a genuine replacement battery (VGP-BPS 13A/S) for my Vaio laptop - Model VGN-FW31ZJ. I'm told that if I don't use a Sony battery then it will not be recognised by the laptop - is this correct?

We have had a number of reports of replacement batteries either not being recognised or the required BIOS tweek provided with some batteries bricking the notebook.

Genuine batteries don't come cheap but you can purchase a battery from Sony for your model.

A Google may provide a more competitive price but get confirmation, in writing, that it is a genuine Sony battery.
