Problems with DVD drive

Adobe PRE 7 suddendly did not find my DVD drive. The same drive is recognized and usable from Picture Motion Browser.

I tried Windows Fixit obtaining this message: Error Code 0x80070002

That error code is usually produced when a Windows Update fails to install.

When you look in Device Manager -> DVD/CD-ROM Drives is there a yellow warning ! against your drive? If you double-click on it does it say "Working Properly" or is there an "Error Code"?
