My wife's VGN-NS20E has developed a screen problem overnight. The number of colours has dropped considerably, text is very ard to read and there are three or four broken vertical lines running down the screen and for some reason the start up screen now runs in bright green. Other than that the display is rock solid, no flickering or fluctuation in brightness or anything one would normally expect from a screen on the way out.
Changing the screen resolution & colour settings etc makes no difference, all drivers are up to date and there are no reported conflicts. An external monitor displays perfectly so the graphics card is working correctly.
So, I don't think it's software or drivers, the graphics card is working and I don't think it's the screen itself. Any bright ideas anyone?
I should say that the option I've not yet explored is that the internal cable to the screen is somehow being pinched or has come loose, could that feasibly be the cause?
