PCG-VX71p and PCGA-CRWD1

Hi,
I am having problems getting my VX71p to recognise my dvd/cd drive (CRWD1)

I've had the problem before and it seemed to fix itself.

If i start up with the drive plugged in and then disconnect I get the audio signal to say its been disconnected even tho it doesnt show in MY Computer.

If i then reconnect and disconnect I get nothing.

How do I totally reinstall using the recovery discs? It wont recognise the drive from boot up.

Can anyone help??

I have precicely the same problem and am looking for solutions too.
