Nvidia ForceWare problem on a AR21S

I have a Sony Vaio AR21S and have installed Gears of War on it today and it runs perfectly apart from one annoying issue. Everytime i launch the game I get this message:

"To run Gears of War with your current hardware setup, you must install the NVIDIA Forceware 163.44 driver or a later driver from the www.nvidia.com/drivers website.

To install the update, click INSTALL.

If you do not install the 163.44 driver or a later driver, at some point the game will stop and your progress will be lost."

I have been to the website but can't find the drivers for the Geforce Go7600GT that this laptop has. Any help on how to update would be greatly appreciated.

You will need a modded .INF file replacement to install a non-Sony driver.

If it is asking for 163.44 then I assume you are running Vista on the AR21S.

If you are using Vista then

Go Here:-

and follow these instructions for installing the drivers: -

If you are running XP, then go here: -

I have updated the drivers fine and the game works great now. Just another question in the drivers I had before there was an option to scale out games running in 4:3/16:9 resolutions to 16:10 so that games ran using the full screen evan if the resolution didnt match the resolution didnt match the ratio of the screen. Does anyone know where this option is in the latest drivers?

Ive got a problem since installing the drivers everytime I go to open Nvidia Control Panel I get this message box open saying nvCplUI.exe - Aplication Error The instruction at "0x7c9105f8" referenced memory at "0x02620010". The memory could not be "read". Can someone please help how can I fix this?

Which driver version did you install? Was it a 'Full' version of over 30MB?

Did you uninstall the old version before installing the new one?

You can always 'Roll Back' the driver in Device Manager if the new one is unstable.

It was over 30MB big I think about 37MB. I never unistalled the previous driver before following that guide, would you recomend un-installing so there are no drivers at all for graphics chip then trying it again to get Nvidia Control panel back?

Its great so far this driver as far as stability is almost all games I have seem to be smoother and have gained a couple of frames a second. Its just that if a game only has 4:3 resolutions then it doesnt rescaling widescreen. To get that back again I need access to Nvidia Control Panel which I dont have at moment. Just get that message i posted above.

nVIDIA ForceWare X 167.43 for Windows Vista 32bit is the SONY released driver and needs no modded .INF to install - just download and install.
