Monitor Problems PCG-282M

I’m not sure that I understand your question but if you are referring to the screen size the answer is no as this is an all-in-one.

Plus, if it is an Nvidia chip problem, this is part of the motherboard not the screen.

Hi ArturoJM,

You are quoting the chassis model number. Have a look on the screen surround for the product model – possibly VGC-LM1M or similar.

If this is the model then you could have a problem with the Nvidia graphics chip – this fault has been acknowledged by Sony. Have a look at the following link:

http://genesis.sony-europe.com/instranet/ccil_sony/selfservice/searcher.jsp?DocId=53420&l=en_GB&m=VG...

In order to arrange a free repair under the conditions mentioned in the link you will need to call the out of warranty premium rate telephone number. From the UK the number is 0905 0310006.

Hi Rich912

i'm having the same issue (i guess) with my PCG 282M, yesterday, without any notice i couldn't started it again, the screen turned into a psychedelic one...

i've uploaded a video on YT about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuI55f9CvmU&feature=youtu.be

the point is, is if this reported, where should I contact with support?

cause i've tried with the link on that official report you said and the system doesnt recognyze the model... take a look here please: http://screencast.com/t/IquGbx53SS

Cheers!

Hi freakvk,

The reason that the model is not recognised is that you are using the chassis model number not the product model number. Have a look on the screen surround – you may find that it is a VGC-LM1M or similar.

As stated above, in order to arrange a free repair under the conditions mentioned in the link you will need to call the out of warranty premium rate telephone number. I don’t know the number for Spain but if you follow this link, click Vaio and Computing and then enter your serial number you should see contact options.
