IEEE 1394 .. Adapter or driver??

Does my VPCEB4E1E need an IEEE 1394 adapter or just a driver installed? Any help greatly appreciated.

Looking at the specifications of your Vaio, it does not appear to have an iLink/Firewire port and so it will not be using the IEEE 1394 Serial Bus Interface.

If you need a Firewire/iLink connection for someting like a video camera, you will need to get an ExpressCard like this one: -
