Hi,
I've a VGN-S5M with Vista and i have also tried Ubuntu 6.10 or OpenSUSE 10.2 and when i select to poweroff the PC in linux this don't stop the system !
Shut down all the processes but not the system...anybody knows the solution??
Thank you!
Go to a restore point before you installed the open source software and create a new partition and install it using XP professional or Linux on the new partition. Vista is as vista does.
Sorry but i don't understand at all your answer....I will explain my problem better.
I have a 80GB HD with "4 partitions". In the first i've installed Vista (and the GRUB start for linux), the second is also for Vista but for music, video, etc (storage..), the third and the forth are for Ubuntu linux (the swap and the system).
With Vista no problems, but with Linux i've to turn off my pc manually ! because don't shutdown automatically after closing all the processes.
Perhaps the problem is that all the partitions of my HD are primary ??!?!
Which is the correct form to do the partitions in my case !??!
Thank you very much !
I would check the ACPI settings, this sounds like it's not quite understanding what Linux wants.
The hibernation also don't work....what i have to find in the ACPI ?
THanks
Nobody have this problem ?
what can i do ?
