Have been trying for hrs now to connect. Cant.
I Have put in a wanadoo installation CD so that it does all the hard work
Keep getting the error msg, 'Could Not Connect'
Really?
The modem in question is a CXT AC-Link Modem for ALi.
When i check the Diagnostics, query modem, it tells me that it is being run by another application.
I checked task manager and no other apps are running.
Phone and Modem Options tells me that it is attached to Com 3 and that device is working properly.
When i check Device Manager, it is there under a modems but not under 'Ports (COM & LPT)' (the only thing there is is ECP printer port lpt1)
Someone help pls
And Yes.........it is plugged in
Go to device manager and uninstall the modem, restart Windows and let it install it for you.
If it doesn't come up as a modem try installing it by using the add new hardware wizard.
Many thanks Kee-lo.
What happened was that when my comp restarted after uninstall, the culprit programme took the huff and bombarded my desktop with warnings.
My PDA and activesync no less.
instead of getting rid of it, i just shut it off in its options.
Thanks once again
