HDR-CX550VE: how to make a new full backup on a 2nd hard drive ?

The camcorder Sony HDR-CX550VE allows a direct backup on an external hard drive, which is good. Only the sequences shot since the last backup can subsequently be stored on the same hard drive.

How to make another backup on a second hard drive? I've tried to do so in vain: the camcorder indicates that the files were all already saved. I cannot find the solution in the manual. Is there a way to unselect on the camcorder the files which have already been saved?

Are you trying to do this on a Windows PC/Laptop and if so, have you tried connecting the camera to your computer and doing a simple 'copy and paste' of the files from the camera's hard drive to your backup drive. I know it's not ideal but at least it gives you the flexibility to choose what to back up. All of this can be done in the Windows interface using 'My Computer' or 'Computer' depending upon which version you have.
