Hi,
I have a USB OTG cable that I got with my old Nokia N8 that I've successfully been using with my Xperia Z. When I tried to plug that same cable into my Xperia Z3, it doesn't seem to fit. And I don't want to force it, of course.
Looking at the two ports up close, the Nokia N8's and Xperia Z's connectors appear similar, but the Z3's looks ever so slightly narrower. From what I can tell on GSM Arena, all three devices claim to have Micro-USB v2.0 ports.
What's going on here?
Regards,
Andries

I got it working by buying a new USB OTG cable.
Got one labeled as "Samsung OTG", but the sales assistent kindly let me test it in the store and the plug has the more diamond shape vs the squarer shape of the Nokia N8/Xperia Z's.
The Xperia Z3 only comes with a USB (Type B, I think), i.e. client cable.
With the "client" cable I can plug the Z3 into other devices, but I cannot plug other devices, in this case a Micro-SD card reader, into the Z3.
Arrggh, I think I've figured it out. If you have a look here:

From just staring at the Nokia N8, Xperia Z and Z3 Micro-USB connectors, it would appear that the Nokia N8 and the Xperia Z both have a Micro-A connector. The Xperia Z3 appears to have a Micro-B connector. That would explain why my cable doesn't fit, but it doesn't really explain why the connector should be different.
*sigh*
