Hi there,
Everytime PCCompanion syncronizes between my Outlook and Google, it overwrites the timezone with incorrect values which windows reports as "Your current time zone is not recognized" and consequently on the next syncronization it doesn't recognize it itself and updates all apointments and fires all reminders. It is extremely annoying. Sometimes it makes me confirm that the appointments match.
I used Process Monitor to prove that it is indeed the PCCompanion.exe process that changes the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation registry keys.
My current phone is Arc S. I am using Windows 8 x64, but I am pretty sure it makes it on Windows 7 x64 also. I have this problem for a year now (between several updates).
All my phones, save for one, have been Sony, but this bug makes me think if I want another Sony Android phone.
PLEASE CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE!

This has now been checked by concerned team and the root caused has been found and will be fixed in next PCC release.

Hello Johan,
I am as surprised as you that there is no such bugs on the net. I am a technical guy and I know my way around computers, but I can't explain this. I got as far as proving that PCC damages the registry keys. Just how it got the idea to write such values I don't know.
Here's my data:
-Please dont post personal details in open forum threads.
Also, here's a snapshot of the registry:
1. After PCC changes it. Then windows says it can't read the timezone.
2. This is after I set it through Windows again:
If I keep the registry right (every 3 hours or so), it works as expected.

Just to confirm, the problem continues after switching to Xperia ZL. I think it has nothing to do with the phone. I can't imagine what can possibly make PCC to write such invalid time zone information to the registry and above all, why write to the registry at all?
P.S. I moved it to the Xperia ZL board, since this is the phone I am using now.
Johan, anything?
If anyone has this problem, reinstalling the app solved the problem with the timezone.
Great!
I'll be sure to check the update when it comes out.
