Hi,
I have an X Z with a 32 GB Class 2 Transcend micro sd. I am really offten facing the following issue:
- taking pics
- trying to look at pics in Gallery (in German the App is called Album)
- placeholder thumbnail for some pics, file size is 0 looking at the files in file browser
- in Album app trying to select the second tab ("my albums" or so, where all the social service albums are collected) => "No storage available", in German it says "Kein Speicher verfügbar") and the app closes immediately.
- Trying to take a picture: Cannot save image
This is really annoying and only restarting the device helps. This also happens if I set the storage medium to internal storage!
So again, this is data loss since some pics have 0 kb and are lost.
Do you already know of this issue. Can it be related to the microsd card I am using? It also happens saving to internal storage so I doubt it.
And btw: Which microsd card is the recommended one?
Thanks,
Historus

Not that I have observed but I will have a look. And I am not sure if these issues belong together.
There seems to be a lot of issues with Sandisk SD cards lately. It not only effect Z, but numerous phone owners for other brands as well. The card seems to be "ejected" or not connected even though it's already in the slot. It seems to only effect a certain batch though. There's even a thread on Sandisk forum about it. Try to use SD card from other brands like Kingston, Sony, etc. Try to borrow from your friends and test them out first to make sure it works. Or right after you buy it, test it on the spot.
Interesting. But as I said I am using a Transcend card. And the issue is not using the sd card but accessing the internal storage.
your issue is writting to the sd card. or more specifically, pasing information to the sd card correctly.
normally i would suggest those with similar problems to repair their Android OS first. But since you already got your Z replace and the smae problem persists, software issue is definately not the case this time round.
I'm not sure how slow is Class 2, since class 4 is the standard where I am. What consumers always mistook is that higher or lower class for SD Card only effect write speed. NOT read speed. Read speed is the same for all classes. I'm very tempted to say that the slow write speed could be the cause of the problem, but I don't have any exerience using class 2 SD on Android, or any mobile phone. But as it stands now, either class 2 is too slow for android or the sd card is having issue receiving & writing data.
see if you can borrow other SD to test it out and tell us how it goes.
good luck
As I already answered in "7" I bought a new class 10 card. With the same effect. I could try removing the card and see if a plain device shows the same error. But I am tired of troubleshooting other people's mistakes...
i know u bought a class 10. but a lot of mobile users are having issues with class 10 right now. except for a few.
or you can just bring it back to the service centre again and tell them the issue is still there.
I bought a Kingston class 4 card and it fixed the problem with 99%.
I observed this issue only one time.
