I always put my phone in silent mode and plug it in before going to bed. I noticed it turns its screen on several times while charging. I can only assume this is caused by short interruptions in the charging, as the screen always turns on when plugging in the phone.
When the battery is almost full, this often gets extreme as the screen starts turning on and off rapidly. This morning, I took a screenshot of battery usage before unplugging. It shows a decrease in the charging rate towards 100%, indicating my phone put on another light show.
I have tried two different chargers, (one came with the Z3C we're talking about, the other with my Xperia V) a magnetic cable and regular mini-usb, and even three different power outlets. Problem persists.
While I'm not noticing an impact on my battery's performance, I'm afraid this will wreck my battery eventually. My phone is only six weeks old. Anyone seen this before? Any ideas to resolve this?

Hey guys,
I finally figured it out: turns out an alarm clock plugged into another outlet in the same room was causing the problem.
I hope my battery didn't suffer too much from these bumpy charging sessions.
Try charging next time on Safe mode:

or repair the phone with PCC

@Amplifiction it is problably app, but slow down in charging that you observe towards the top is normal. Lithium Polymer batteries are charged very slowly when they are fully discharged, then from few % to around 80 - 90% they are charged at very fast rate (if thermal conditions permits) and then topped up quite slow because they can't store charge as fast without overheating and controlling overcharging is much harded at those levels.
Look for the app that causes wake ups because screen on events would occur only on 100% and upon connect/disconnect. Also please try another charger and other charging cable.

Thanks for the info, guys. Will try booting into safe mode to determine if an app is causing the problem.
Also good to know a decrease in charging rate is normal towards the end of a cycle.
However, I did try charging using my laptop and a power bank, and the issue didn't occur. I don't know what to make of this.
My phone does this so often it drains the battery faster than it charges. It also overheats? I tried to fix it via PC companion but it did the same thing when connected to the pc. This problem in conjunction with the constant app refreshing. What do you suggest i do? I miss my phone :,(((
