Black Screen

I.. have another problem with my beloved phone Slightly_frowning_Face

"I don't know but maybe..."

3 days ago I brought my phone into the water (no lid cover was opened) and realized there were still some water got into the memory card slot so I got panic. The phone flickered for a while (omg) so I let it turned off and thought to let the water inside the phone dries by it self for around 5 hours and sometimes used hair dryer on low.

I turned it back on in the next morning and it was working fine. No glitch, no flicker, no laggyness, everything were fine.

But the next day when I recieved a msg and pressed the power button to lit up my screen, it doesn't show anything. Just black backlight screen. LED is working fine, the speakers are still making sounds when it recieve a msg or a notification but I can't see anything. The screen is lit, but black. When I touch the screen, it's making sound as if I entering the passcode to enter my homescreen, so I assume the screen is still responsive to my touch.

I don't have a charging dock, so I tried using the wall charger and charge it for 3 hours, it doesn't do anything.

I reset it using the reset button next to the simcard slot, its still giving me black screen.

I tried press and holding down the power + up volume button, it vibrates 3times, but still black screened.

Some guys say to turn off any Bluetooth devices around the phone, the only bluetooth i'm using is my laptop and now i'ts currently off.

I tried using the PC companion (to maybe update the software), it says no phone is detected (my phone is on, it makes clicking sounds when i touch the screen). The computer detects a device is connected tho.

I've always been using the lowest brigtness level for my phone and auto adapt to light checked. But If you wish me to change any options for now, I can't. because I literally can't see anything on it.

It's like the system is working fine but it can't show it to you because they're not connected. (at least that's how it feels)

The phone has been updated to the latest kitkat version before the black screen happened.

I can see not few people are having the same problem, I'm really sad about this.

But I hope someone could help us

I really appreciate it.

I plan to bring the phone to the xperia service center soon

I will keep you updated.

Regards.

First of all, I apologize that it seems like I almost abandon this thread I made. ('cuz it's been years ago)

So yes, last time I said that I brought my phone to the Sony Service Center. (That's how everything was fixed. So Good Luck, mate! :smileysmileywink:)

Some of the hardwares were not working properly especially the backlit on the screen, it wont turn on.

Everything was working fine except the screen illumination.

My phone that time was still under the warranty validation, so it's good.

They stripped my phone from its SIM card, memory card, anything that's possibly taken off.

They'd fix my phone with no charge.

They promised me that the phone's will be done in 2-3 weeks.

I thought it took kinda long. They were fixing it in someplace else, that's their excuse.

So yes of course I wanted to have my phone fixed, I agreed.

Warranty was good, they gave me a receipt as a token, they'd inform me when it's done they said.

After 2 weeks they have had not called so I stopped by to check if its done, they said "not yet".

3 weeks, I came over they said "not yet" (again).

1 month....

1,5...

turns out that it took them 2 even months to fix my phone. They said my phone recieved a brand new screen replacement.

Still 2 months being around without my phone is making me feel.. lonely if you know what I'm saying Grinning_Face hehe
I live in Jakarta so yaa, everything is kinda slow in here.

Been having my Z1 for 2 years and couple months now, its perfomance never dropped. Still running as its a new thing.

Love this Phone! Not planning on getting any new phone until it's literally destroyed (gee.. let's not wish for that to happen haha)

Good Luck! Slightly_smiling_Face
