Bad call quality Xperia Z5 Vodafone Operator

Good morning

I've an Xperia Z5 with latest fw 32.0.A.6.200 and with operator Vodafone

Sometimes happens that calling my girl, with an Xperia Z3 with Vodafone, the call stars with a stellar quality, very high and really clear, cristallin sound, but sometimes, after one or two minutes, call quality becomes muffled, just as it could be closed in medium or high frequences, and we-together don't move any other settings or aren't on the move !

That's happening is very sad, because situation becomes very bad and differences are rapidly noted because at the first seconds call quality was really good and becomes bad, and together are hearing the same thing ...

What shall we or I do ?

In Settings-Call, I've only EQ, on Normal (prefering to Luminous), but are anymore available other settings just as it was on Z3 ?

So, when I am on 4/3g prefered, my call goes directly in HD Audio, if other part is compatible, right ?

When I'm out of 4/3g range, call goes directly to 2g, right ?

Quick question, you said originally "and my girl with Z3 (3g*2g because hasn't 4g) !"
Does your friend live in a poorer signal area without 4g?
If so, it's probably her phone dropping to 2g and ending the HD audio

Correct, the 4g is irrelevant to your calling, the important part of the HD audio in calls is good 3g coverage,

Has a poor area with 4g, very poor, but there's !
It's probably due to the thing that she hasn't 4g so can't keep the phone on 3g stably, just like me !

For a quick explanation.
On Vodafone atm

4G = high speed data use only (VoLTE on some handsets)
3G = HD Voice, Data,
2G = standard voice calls, slow data.

But she has a good coverage in 3g.

So probably, she's often on wifi, and her phone goes very often in 2g, because she has settled 3g prefered/gsm because hasn't got 4g, so it's useless to put it on 4g prefered.

I agree, I believe the issue is her connection and unstable 3g in her area.

If the area is 3g only, even a good signal might be poor bandwidth due to many people all stuck on 3g and over populating the masts.

So I must advice her to keep his phone in ONLY 3G so probably calls could be better, because area is fully fulfited by 3g !

I'm always on 4g prefered to be able to run a high speeds and do some great calls !

Yes you can try that,
Be mindful tho, that even on 3g only, if her bandwidth is too poor, it will drop HD audio still. It needs a fairly decent connection, which luckily you have, hopefully so does she.
