Anti Shatter Film (ASF)

The anti shatter film on my Xperis Z is starting to get really scratchty, so I'm looking for a solution.

Along with my phone there was two extra sheets off plastic (front and back side) included in the box that is either new ASF, or perhaps scratch protection for the ASF. Does anyone know what that plastic is?

If the ASF is special somehow, is there any place to buy it? Otherwise I guess I can just order any generic screen protector for further use.

I hope the logos stay on when I peel off the plastic.

Please be aware that the ASF is heat sealed onto the glass so there is no way to get this placed back on in the same it was out of the box. If you require this replaced the display itself would need to be replaced by an authorised repair agent unfortunately.

Is there a SONY logo on the plastic film? Post pictures if possible. I don't think they are ASF.

The front ASF comes with SONY logo. And there is nothing on the back ASF.

You can get the original xperia z1 front asf and back asf at witrigs.com.

It is easy to peel off the old ASFs, but it is not easy to install the new ASFs.

ASF can keep scrathces away from SONY xperia Z. But it can't protect itself away from scratches. If you decide to install a new ASF, you'd better use a normal screen protector on the new ASF. Or the ASF will get new scratches after two weeks.

You can choose to use only a normal screen ptortector or get a tempered glass screen protector.

BTW. It will out of  warranty once you peel off the ASF.

I don't know about the logo. I have just read it on the Web. I didn't know about the warranty, so I'll have to think twice about this then. Thanks for the answer.

Thanks. I'll investigate the cost/availability for this.

if the scratches arent deep, you can aply normal protector on top and it might cover them... works for me.

Hey Sam! I'm from México, I'd like to know an estimated price of this. Do you know where can I find this info?
