After lollipop 5.0, I can't watch videos.

I recently installed lollipop 5.0 and, for whatever reasons, I simply can not open videos on YouTube and in Facebook. 

I installed VMX and VLC and I still can't. I do not want to reboot my Z2 back to fabric, only if there's no other choice. 

Any help would be highly appreciated.

How fast is your internet (wifi/data) connection? do you get an error? are you using the facebook app or chrome/browser? any antivirus or taskiller?

Check if it works on safe mode

I'm using Wi-Fi connection (30Mb Speed), Facebook and YouTube android apps. 

I do get an error.

I have installed CM Security.

uninstall it > boot on safe mode > check again.

Also install speedtest (app) and check your actual wifi connection

Have you tried to remove proxy and port from your APN settings?

I have run safe mode just now and I can watch YouTube videos again.

Now that I know that is A 3rd party application how should I proceed? ( Sorry if the answer is very obvious)

You could try an app preferences reset - Settings then Apps then tap the dots in the top corner then tap on reset app preferences reboot and test
