Hallo,

I'm gonna to buy xz1 compact as it's size (now i use a52017).... but a lot o people wrote about many sony device problems.... And that is why I'd like to ask if All, below mentioned, bugs are fixed now:

* Huge battery drain on wifi connection? 6-8% per hour? Or general: unusual battery drain on standby?

* Weak WiFi sygnal close to the router?

* GPS icon problem (GPS always ON and not possibile to switxh it OFF?)

* GPS fix while using sport trackers? (Problem with gps-fix after loosing sygnal for a moment)

Are those provlems fixed?

It seems to be perfect phone for me, but those bugs are crucial....

1,2,3 I never had those... I dont know about 4, havent used the gps for anything other than weather, google maps and garmin navigation. No problems. Battery is top notch, with or without WiFi. Signal and wifi reception are also very good. Those problems dont hit everyone.. The gps icon always on seems the widest spreaded one and i dont have it. The battery drains that some users experience to me seems like problems coming from some 3rd party apps that not everyone installs.

I'm on the January update and my GPS icon is always on, although Sony have acknowledged that this is a problem with some phones and they will provide a fix in a future update. I don't know if all phones are affected or just some of them.

I don't have a sports tracker so I can't comment on that point but I do use walking and navigation Apps and these work fine on my phone.

I have never had any battery drain or wifi problems with my XZ1C. My normal overnight battery drain is 2%.

~ Wifi drain depends on the router, this is not a bug specific to Sony phone. It can also be seen on phones from other manufacturers

~ I play Ingress a lot and when i have Wifi/Bluetooth scanning on, it is impossible to get a proper fix. The signal jumps here and there (Hey, i can collect uniques on Ingress ). When you are driving and come out of a Tunnel, the device takes a couple of seconds to realise that it is no longer in the Tunnel. Had a tough time driving in Brussels

Bugs/Issues that you seem to have missed
~ Smartlock is not working for everyone. When you open the settings you are presented with a blank page. You cannot tell your phone to set an alarm, you have to unlock it with Pin/pattern/fps and set the alarm
~ Bloatware like amazon, AVG etc which cannot be uninstalled. Oddly enough Sony's apps can be uninstalled... Nevertheless, the bloat is less compared to samsung

Have you tried disabling either or both of WiFi scanning and Bluetooth scanning? This has improved the reliability and function of GPS for many, including myself.

With regard to bloat ware, disabling undesired apps and disabling updates for the undesired apps removes all but a small stub of maybe 150 kb, and in most cases removes the app from the app drawer. So this is not really a big deal.
