go to Settings > Lock screen & security, and then click the cogwheel icon next to "Screen lock" entry, and toggle "Make pattern visible" off.

yeah I know what you mean, for some reason Google designed it in a way that doesn't make you think that it's a button.

by the way, you can always try searching through Settings with the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner of the main Settings screen
