SD Card cant be used

I have a SD card which I use for HiRes Music. But I also want Tidal and PocketCast to save their files on it. Sadly even after several tries of formatting the sd card, the apps wont save stuff on there. Tidal skips song after song when I want to download music with SD card selected. So does Qobuz and PocketCast. What can I do?

I did, this is the THIRD ordered sd card from Amazon and Apps do not seem to work with them. I downloaded a Tomtom Navigation App today which also said "not enough storage" (less than 1mb). After I ejected the SD card it took the internal storage and worked just fine. It works with the S8 of my colleague like a charm. Why always so many problems with Sony???

SONY PLEASE: I have to switch phones if this does not get solved!

Just to give an update:

Problem is:

-Apps cant use the SD Card

-The third SD Card is used and NOT formatted to anything

-File-Apps can move stuff there (want to use the root level but anyway)

-Apps that are not able to put their files there: Spotify, Tidal, Tom Tom (last even gives an error about not being able to download maps because theres not a single MB free, after ejecting card, works!)

-By comparison: Galaxy S8 works with the same card and has NO PROBLEMS at all

I paid 750€ for it and it dont do basic stuff even my old Z3 could: use the SD Card properly.

Update: Talked to the support and put my phone to factory reset. now it all works fine, it was the software the phone came with.

Maybe I'll have to do this as well, most apps work fine but some won't write to the SD card (Audible works, Amazon video and Music won't write there no matter what) :(*

Just out of curiosity - did you encrypt your SD card?

I tried that once to see if that helps - just the same result.

Yes I did and now it does not seem to work anymore. I don't know if that is related but it seems so. I now have to restore my phone again I think.

I deactivated the encryption and it is still not working. I have to reset the phone again! I am completely lost here 😞

Encryption can't be undone on the SD card as far as I know - only formating it will do that.
