SD Card cant be used

I have a SD card which I use for HiRes Music. But I also want Tidal and PocketCast to save their files on it. Sadly even after several tries of formatting the sd card, the apps wont save stuff on there. Tidal skips song after song when I want to download music with SD card selected. So does Qobuz and PocketCast. What can I do?

More info: The card seems to be in READ ONLY mode. How come? I just formatted it to ExFAT

You could try clearing permissions in app setting and then Re try.

Also worth using the built in Explorer to move a small file to sd, on first attempt the system will ask for permission to write to sd.

All the Apps, Tidal, Spotify and Qobuz support Use external SD and it doesnt work! I ordered ANOTHER card today for 50 bucks and this one does not work either. Why is that? The phone only has 64gb and if I download stuff in Tidal or Spotify that space gets eaten fast!

Did you try as advised above?

Sounds a LOT to me like the permission hasn't been set correctly for sd card write access

How do I do that? By formatting it?

no, go to Settings > Apps, find the app that can't access the SD card, open its entry, and then choose Storage > External storage > Clear access (on the bottom of the screen)

Sorry that does not exist. On the page storage I have two buttons: clear cache and clear data. 😞

hmmm, I downloaded Tidal and tried to set up for a free trial to check the downloading feature but it wanted me to hand over my credit card data and I have no interest in doing that. you might want to try contacting Tidal support to see if they're able to solve that issue, and same for Pocket Casts. if you go to Play Store entry for each app and scroll to the very bottom, you should see a "send email" button which will allow you to contact the developer. I think it's worth a shot.

Which means they don't have permission for sd.

Go to settings, apps, gear symbol top right, app permissions, then storage.

Go down list and find the apps and check them
