No SMS notification in the lock screen

Sometimes SMS notifications don't show in the lockscreen. Even after doing a factory reset, updating to 7.1.1, still the same. This also happened when my phone is still in 7.0. My phone is Xperia XZ Dual variant.

Under Settings > Security > When device is locked. What do you have this set to?

Settings - Lockscreen & security - Configure notifications - On the lock screen

It is set to Show all notification content yet it sometimes do not show. When it is set to Hide sensitive notification content it should still show an SMS notification though not the actual message but it also don't show.

It should indeed show a notification still. It looks like you have a custom launcher, or is that a theme?

Either way, try it in safe mode and see if the same thing happens.

Oh it's a theme and I just changed the phone's DPI.😅 Will try it in safe mode and see if this still happens.👍

SMS lock screen notification in safe mode is fine. When revert back from safe mode it kinda resolves it, I think.😅 Lock screen now shows SMS notifications both in Show all notification content and Hide sensitive notification content. Though I will still monitor this.🙂

It is likely caused by a third party app. Safe mode does clear cached data on some apps so it could have been the resolution, though it's weird a factory reset didn't fix it.

Anyway, glad to hear it's working! Hopefully it remains so

Yeah  it could be.😅 I have Greenify though I don't have any system apps included in the hibernated apps in it. But anyway, thank you for the help.😃
