Since the upgrade to Android 8.0, most of my notifications do not seem to work any more.

Also, the location notification is on even though I have switched off the location.

I have wiped out everything, factory reset, and did a software repair through Sony Companion tool, but the problems persist. Any other tips for me to fix these problems?

What notifications exactly are not working? Have you checked in the notifications settings of each app if they are on, or if the sound option is also selected?

Regarding the location icon there is nothing you can do (restarting the phone temporarily solves it) except to wait for Sony to solve it in one of the next updates (they already told they are going to fix it).

Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, Calendar, eBay etc. I have already adjusted the settings of each app in the setting and within in the app. Already put them all in the highest priority, no batt optimalization, but still no notifications for me.

That is really strange, I have no problem with most of that apps notification. After the fresh repair with Xperia Companion did you test the notifications without installing any backup or third party apps?

Yes, I factory reset and set up as a new device, without any other apps installed. I only ran Gmail first, still no notification, it is very annoying not to have any notification at all.

Have in mind that Factory Reset is not the same thing as Software Repair with Xperia Companion, your software might be corrupted and a Software Repair makes a fresh install with a new software (using Xperia Companion).
