So last night I updated my Xperia XZ to build 41.2.A.7.53 and I have to say I wish I hadn't.
Since doing so, my phone no longer automatically connects to my car's infotainment system, I have to delete it and repair every time I get in the car. My "Recent Calls" are no longer in any sort of order. Worst of all though, I can no longer use my phone to make handsfree calls as it seems to scramble the sound - I couldn't hear the other person and they couldn't hear me. I tried this both through bluetooth and wired using Android Auto.
I also use the Tesco PayQwiq app to pay for shopping in Tesco stores, except that app has stopped working as well, it gives me an error stating that it does not run on rooted phones - I have not rooted my phone, wouldn't know where to start!!
Is there a way to roll-back my phone and uninstall this last update, because otherwise I will be buying a new phone.
Anyone? I tried going into the EE store to see whether they could offer any help and they tried to suggest the problem was with my car not the update...
I'd suggest that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.
Follow the steps given in blue links, and keep us updated.
Thanks. Will give that a try this evening or tomorrow evening and let you know.
