Blank Screen after sleep

I hope this is the right place to post but I have an issue with my Xperia.

My phone has been working great and then suddenly today it's gone blank when it goes to sleep. I can't do anything other than restart the phone through power/volume up to get it to reboot.

This sometimes works straight away and sometimes it doesn't!! I thought I had a work around with the screen saver turned on to get around the screen going completlt blank but to no avail!

When the phone is on and working it works great and there are no problems but the moment it goes to sleep it's as if the phone is off.

Any thoughts??

Hi @designdigglersp, welcome to our forum and I'm sorry to hear about this.

You have come to the right place!

That sounds very strange that you don't experience this behaviour when you are using the phone and only when the screen automatically turns itself off.

I would recommend that you start with restarting your phone in safe mode so we can see if a downloaded application is the cause of you not being able to turn the screen on again after it goes inactive.

You can also try removing your SIM and/or SD card(s) from the phone > power it on > use it for a few minutes > let the screen turn off and see if you can turn it on.
