August security patch

Is high ram usage issue fixed?

And what about the battery drain as well as heating issues (especially in the camera app)

Please post ur thoughts and impression on the update so that others(like me)  can see if it's worth it to move on from Marshmallow

Thanks

One issue solved.... When you take a picture and then try to zoom the picture, it takes about 2 sec to obtain a processed image... But this has fixed on August update.... Still there is lag in loading the picture from camera app..

@simmos007

Let me make two points here:

First and although i haven't tried Pokémon Go, i can see how the frame rates can drop. I mean overheating will cause throttling thus sluggish performance.

Second, I am by now convinced that Sony, and for economical reasons and lack of finances or should I say the unwillingness to put in effort in their smartphone segment,  is not paying that much attention to customers. It's as if they just wanna keep their smartphone segment alive as for the heck of it.  So it's only natural that they don't even respond to what customers are complaining about. Best case scenario some sony rep would suggest a factory reset or safe mode as if it's never sony's fault.

Long story short sony keep it up this way, and more loyal customers including me will ditch them.

Same here SamiSawani,
I think they want us (their loyal customers since years, beginning of Sony Ericsson in my case) to go away.
I gave up already, they won and I will go away.

Software treatment is unbelievable now, see what happened for Z5 users, now most probably 7.1.1 is the last update for Z5 and Sony released very bad software for this device with purpose. It is very laggy and hot now, with many bugs. Considering this is the last update this is the way they want to convince people to buy new product.

Serously need to keep away from this brand as they are doing things like this.

Same here. I'm still on marshmallow, waiting for the update that will fix all of the problems: heating problem, can't use camera in video mode more than 2-3 min., picture quality is wack (watercolor effect, lack of details), double tap to wake up. And I'm the fan since Sony-Ericsson era (2012) . What's wrong with you, Sony? How much you think we should wait? You had enough time to fix these major issues. I'm already thinking about switching to another brand. Name one reason to be loyal to you after not caring about us.

I got wifi hotspot issue since I updated the August patch. I connect the hotspot from the iphone, the connection keeps connected then disconnected every second as the loop. I see many people experience either.

Voravatx I'm not exactly sure what you mean but please correct me if I'm wrong, you are having issues when connecting your Xperia to an iPhone's Hotspot?

Well, I have tested my friend's iPhone as a Hotspot and connected my Xperia to it. No issues at all. With that being said, I think it's the iPhone's fault

The only and major problem I have is with the battery in idle mode. It happens only when wifi is on and consumes Upto 30% battery during night when I am asleep! It's frustrating because I don't even use my Xperia XZ that much but still have to charge everyday! I am not happy with Sony this time coz XZ came as a replacement for my Xperia Z5 Premium which had audio jack manufacturing fault in all the units!
