Is high ram usage issue fixed?
And what about the battery drain as well as heating issues (especially in the camera app)
Please post ur thoughts and impression on the update so that others(like me) can see if it's worth it to move on from Marshmallow
Thanks
Hey 100sailo, i really appreciate ur feedback
It's good to hear that RAM management has beeen improved but on the hand the device still heats up???? Maybe the update needs few days to settle all background processes amd optimizations.
I'll wait to hear more from u
Thanks
Well that's good to hear! Would you please tell me ur screen on time?

No phone idle drain?
I don't really care about SOT and standby time. I use my phone in max performance. My daily usage is estimated 7am to 12am, and SOT around 4-5hr. All of the gps, wifi, data are on except nfc.
Maybe .. i m not sure ... i cleared my Cache last night .. So that the update settles down nicely without any errors or problems ...
this by far is the best update i can say ... The phone is running all Smooth ...
As for the Heating issue is concerned .. I will observe it till tonight ... i guess the update has settled by now ... So will update here
I just went ahead and did the update. It seems like they have fixed most issues and will sure post my review to confirm what others have
Update:
1) Ram management is good
2)the phone is snappy and smooth
3) still heats up
4) phone idle drains about 5 percent of battery per 11 hours which is fine
5) double tap to wake is improved but sometimes requires touching 4 times to wake the screen
6) when taking a picture in the camera app, there is a delay of about 2 seconds to view the photos (when u click on it) which is pathetic. In marshmallow, u tale a picture and can tap to view it immediately.
Overall, it's better than all previous "nougat" updates. Next update should fix the heating issues as well as camera app speed and the phone would literally be perfect
I'm still waiting for the August patch to be available in Singapore.
July patch didn't do the RAM any good.
Is your Xperia unlocked? If it is then you can go to about phone in the settings menu and tap on software update.
If the above method didn't work out maybe you should flash the Russian firmware using the Flash tool. This way you'll have the latest update as soon as it's released
Did you update from marshmallow to Nougat
Or you were in previous Nougat ver only before this update?
I have tried every single nougat build until July security patch. The performance and stability was pathetic especially in the July patch so I switched back to marshmallow. Now I'm using
Nougat august patch because a lot of people said it's the closest to marshmallow in terms of stability.
And i gotta say it again, it's better than all previous nougat updates.
The only issues are camera speed when loading images and heating. But they are not that bad and hopefully they'll be fixed next update.
Cool.. So it actually is closest to Marshmallow
For me it's only the heating .. i just hope they make this phone stay 4-5 degrees cooler than it is at the moment ... Will improve the battery drain as well
