problem with earphone.

help guys i just bought a brand new sony xperia sp but the each time i try to use it with the phone , i keep getting a message on the phone that the earpiece is incompatible with the phone but when i tried it on other brands of smartphones it worked and even on my computer. Please i need help.

If the new headphones are OMTP instead of CTIA its not going to work unless you buy an adapter or a pair of CTIA headphones

I've been trying to check the sales packages about info whether the plugs are ctia or omtp standard, but haven't found any. How can one know?

Yes but the Sony stock earplugs are very uncomfortable. Looking for replacements.

If I buy iPhone compatible headphones, I shoul be safe, right? Yes, my headphones work but they hurt my ears.
