I'm looking to buy some earphones and I have a few requirements, but I'm not sure if the items I'm looking at will work with my Z2.

Firstly, they must be in ear type.

Secondly, I want an inline remote WITH VOLUME CONTROL and preferably a skip/back function too.

I've established that on the (genuine) CrApple ones, the play/pause/skip function works, but NOT the volume. Are their any brands/models that are fully functional?

I'd preferably like some Sony ones, but they seem impossible to find. All they have are the single button for calls.

Just another quick question:

It was said on a facebook Z2 group that the phone is a Sony ERICSSON. Is this true? The specs of the Smart Headset specificly say that it's not compattible with them, and someone on FB said they wont work. I've looked through the manual and don't see anything about it.

The reason it says that its bc the 2010 and 2011 Xperias were Sony Ericsson phones, but the real reason behind is that those 2010-2011 Xperias use OMTP standard and from 2012 and now its CTIA, your phone its a Sony phone not Sony Ericsson.

Contacted the Aus CS and they couldn't tell me any more than what was on the site *smh*. Gone ahead and bought them anyway (not for £40 though!).

Hi, if sadly they dont work....some stores like HMV have their headphones on display for you to try/listen to....i'm sure there would be no problem plugging them into your Z2 so that you can see if the functions work

Hey Uliwooly :smileysmileywink: They'r fully compatible. My only gripe is that the buttons are a little too flush and not easy to differentiate. That said, they do the job I wanted, so I'm happy.
