NW-WM1AM2 Walkman Digital Music Player
This Digital Audio Player was supposed to be released on Good Friday in the UK and yet the Sony Centres and Amazon have never received any and continue to say out of stock on their websites. Sony will not be honest and say if they will be released in the UK or when. I think they are available in the Far East so they must be being produced somewhere! All they do on the Sony Chat is fob you off and tell you to keep checking Amazon. Surely somebody at the company can be honest with people and tell us when it’s going to be available in the UK?

I see that the NW-WM1Am2 is back on the Sony UK online store. The most recent firmware update was in August: can anyone confirm whether performance has improved significantly?

Performance is still poor. Often crashes. Tidal is impossible through it. It's a real shame, as I love the sound - when it works on my Japanese version with high gain. But increasingly it won't, so I'm selling it on.

Hey perlmutter66
You can try restarting your Walkman using the steps in this link: https://helpguide.sony.net/dmp/nwwm1m2/v1/en/contents/TP1000464531.html
Updating the firmware might help as well: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/digital-music-players-nw-wm-series/nw-wm1am2/software/002...
or initializing it to its factory defaults (it will delete all the data stored in it) using this link: https://helpguide.sony.net/dmp/nwwm1m2/v1/en/contents/TP1000464533.html

Thanks, but I'm afraid I've tried all these steps, including the latest firmware update, and there is no improvement. So I've had to sell it as it's unusable in my use case.

@perlmutter66, you could've returned it to Sony for a repair if it was still under warranty. It seems to be a hardware problem.
