XL3 support for the Core Duo E6420 CPU

Hi all

I can get my hands on this model and I was wondering whether the BIOS will support it on my 301 because it was introduced after these models were launched. It has the same power/thermal requirements as the E6400 installed in the XL302 so I can use the existing heatsink, but has 4mb instead of 2Mb cache which does make a difference on apps and HD playback on other systems I've used.

If you're considering to replace the CPU, I'd get an E6700 to compensate the slow performance of the 7600GTL graphics card for HD content.

I'd like to get more informations (besides what PC Wizard tells me) about the mainboard and BIOS too.
Do you think Sony support might help?
