I've had my AR21S for 3 months now and I've just contacted dabs.com to tell them that after five weeks of attempting and failing to get Sony to stop my hard drive clicking that "as is my right under the sale of goods act 1979 (as amended)" I reject it and want my money back. The AR21S has been discontinued and is no longer in stock so I'd have to get an AR31S but I really don't want Vista just yet. I've got the recovery disks for my AR21S and was wondering if they would allow an AR31S to be turned into a XP machine. As far as I can figure out, the only difference is the size of the HD.
Alternatively, could someone recommend an reliable online store where I can still get an AR21S?
thanks

Nope, they check your BIOS checksum anyway.
As for help with finding a new one here's some useful sites for you that I find reputable.
www.saverstore.com (bought the GRX there 5 years ago!)
www.ebuyer.com (excellent site)
www.pcnextday.co.uk (my step father has had good service from them)
Oh well, it was worth a shot.
Unfortunately all those retailers are out of stock and I guess they won't be getting any more in. I jut Froogled AR21S and Dixons now have them in stock for an price which is too good to ignore despite my feelings for the Dixons Group. It all now depends on how long dabs.com takes to reimburse me.
nooooooo, not Dixons
I know! But for some reason (almost certainly a mistake by someone at Dixons) they're £130 cheaper than anyone else on Froogle! :smileyhypnotized: And don't worry, I won't be getting one of their extended warranty's (again).
I know they make me laugh with that warranty, once some guy said he would give it to me for £10, I told him I don't want it even at 1p
