VGC-LV1S - Faulty screen

My screen just alternates between 4 horizontal quarters of red, blue, greena nd off-white, black, off-white and white.  No hdmi cable is plugged in.  Turning PC off and on makes no difference.  The screen just reverts to the alternating modes of colour.  Any ideas anyone?
