This looks like a Sony USA model so I would seek help on the www.sony.com website.
Is the BIOS you downloaded the one from that website here:-

This is update is to enable virtualisation but Sony lock down other advanced BIOS features and these cannot be accessed. You may find BIOS hacks online but these are very dangerous and I would not recommend trying them as you may brick your VAIO.
Which additional features are you looking for? Some features can be controlled with Sony Utilities.
