Tuochpad sensitivity on VGX-XL301

I have just set up my new VGX-XL301 and everything seems to be OK except for the tap sensitivity of the keypad. When moving the cursor about a window, the pad can randomly register an 'enter'. This can be a major pain if the cursor happens to be over a button or unwanted link at the time! The control panel mouse properties only has the usual scroll speed and double-click sensitivity settings but no mention of the tap sensitivity setting. Also, there is no touchpad icon in the system tray. Ideally, I would like to disable the tap/enter function as I have always disliked it. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks!

Hi FergusB and welcome to Club Vaio.

You can try looking in Device Manager under 'HID Keyboard' and 'HID Mouse' to see if there are any adjustments under 'Properties'.

However, I am fairly sure you can't adjust it at all - the only adjustment is to turn the touchpad off completely.

Thanks for your response, Blencogo, I was afraid that would be the case! Yes, I had checked Device Manager but the only options were the usual driver-related ones. I suppose my best solution now is to switch the touchpad off altogether and get a separate cordless mouse.
