Touchpad!

Hi there,
Can anyone help me, have a FX501 notebook, cant seem to get the touchpad to scroll up or down!! have tried Control panel, but not showing in there!! where else can I try, it is working when u tap it, but not scrolling for me. Any help please. Thanks.

Hi carlowlass,

Go to Device manager and expand the Mice and other pointing devices, does it list a pointing device.?

Was the scrolling function working recently.?

Hi there it just has Ps2 compatible mouse showing! bought secondhand not sure if was working only just started it today!!

have you tried downloading and installing the Alps Pointing Device (Touchpad) Driver Update 5.3.510.9a HERE

Download Instructions
1.Download the file MTD_Alps_535109a.exe, and save it to a download directory. (Please note this directory for reference.)
2.Go the download directory and double-click MTD_Alps_535109a.exe.
3.Click Unzip. The file will be extracted to C:\Alps_5.3.510.9a.
4.Click Close to exit WinZip Self-Extractor program.

Installation Instructions
1. Open Device Manager (Click [Start]- right-Click [My Computer] >click [Properties]>[Hardware] Tab >[Device Manager]).
2. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
3. Right-click Ps2 compatible mouse, and then click Update driver.
4. The Hardware Update Wizard starts. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and click Next.
5. Select Search for the best driver in these locations and click Include this location in the search.
6. Browse to the folder under C:\Alps_5.3.510.9a and click OK.
7. Click Next. Please wait while the Wizard installs the software.
8. Click Finish.
9. Click Yes to restart the computer.
