Hi there, i was replacing the drive on this laptop and surprisingly one of the metal retainers that are used to screw the case together fell away :smileyshocked:. Which considering the Sony name, i was a little shocked it falling to pieces.

Anyway the reason for my posting - why cant i find any drivers under the pcg-6y2m ?  Its not listed - nor could i find any reference to it on the forums....but it clearly exists as i have it sat in front of me.

anyone?   Do sony support monitor this forum? surely it would be very easy for them to point me at the driver base - wherever its hidden...?

doesnt matter - ive found it - seems despite it having model: pcg-6y2m stamped on it, it is infact a

VGN-Z21WN/B

i guess my next question is - why? are they trying to confuse customers?  meh nm - good luck all

It seems that PCG-6Y1M is the body or chassis type and can be shared by several actual models.

The recognised model type is always on the screen surround or can be found in Vaio Control Centre or the BIOS.
