I just wonder if anyone has the alleged graphic problem with your vaio series. I got AR51J with 8400m GT early this year. So far it works fine, but not sure it would die shortly :smileysad:. What's the sony's response?

But just been reading through this thread and have yet to find a single offical response from Sony on here, I just can't believe how bad things have got with Sony customer service, makes you sick.
I understand this is a user forum Thalamus and your advice has been fantastic and no doubt helped many, but this is a Sony forum run by and paid for by Sony, if they see hundreds of customers complaining about the same thing rather than release a press statement somebody from the company should come on here and say sorry. Just my view, i have seen it happen with forums on other company websites. I fnd it hard to believe that a single senior person in the company has not read these comments and as such even more surprising that they haven't responded. Could be wrong but wasn't it you who guided people to Sony's statement, why isn't there a simple message on this forum so everybody can see it. Why if like most people having registered my vaio can they simply not send out an email to all those affected. Sorry but they are hoping this will disappear quietly.
Hi all. First of all, sorry for my bad English. I'm spanish and there are more vaio users with this problem in the spanish forum. My VAIO is an FZ21S (nvidia 8600GS). I bought it in February 2008 and I have sent the PC two times to repair service in Deutchland with this problem and I experimented the same graphics problems this morning. My opinion about VAIO has changed. I don't like VAIO anymore. it seems that are only patched the bug to make it work through four years and then say goodbye to another vaio user. Other companies like Acer don't not recognise their product's malfuntion and don't have this fabulous thecnical support but their PCs cost too less than a VAIO and if it doesn't work you can buy another one. You can buy 2 or 3 Acers instead of one VAIO.

Are you saying that you have had the nVidia chip replaced twice by the repair centre in Germany..
They will take my PC again the next week if I the problem continues because I am on holidays.

i have also sent my Vaio VGN-FZ21M two times already for repairing in Germany... and it is currently in its way the third time, unbelivable!!! Basically once a year!!!
First time blue screen (they said the motherbard was replaced which i doubt because i had to send it a second time).
Second time the notebook did not boot, got an apology letter and a piece of cloth to clean my Vaio - thanks Sony, that was really kind but i would hve enjoyed much more a working notebook.
Third time (well, i will call them tomorrow to arrange a fix again) blank screen.
Two days ago i went to a big electronic shop here in Germany and just for comparison checked the cooling of several different notebooks - it is unbelivable how Vaio was heating much more than any other.
Well, i have had my "bad" experience with Vaio and i will now use these 4 years extended warranty (still 1,5 years to go) to make the best out of a EUR 1200 investment.
Vaio, no thanks!!!
