Mouse Pointer Jumping Around Screen

Hey all this is my first post so dont shout at me !

I have a NS10JS and recently upgraded my OS to Vista Ultimate. since that my cursor jumps around the screen. not all the time just every so often. ive tryed new drivers but they wont install due to some about x32 or x64. i can live with it but it can be frustrating also. is it worth gettin it looked at while its in warranty. or will they not be impressed cause i upgraded the OS.

Thanks in advance !

A quick question.

Is Internet Explorer open when it "sometimes" happens and does it happen when IE is not running

Hi Todderik18,

welcome to Club VAIO..

In device manager double click Mouse and Other Pointing Devices.

Do you have a PS2 mouse or a Pointing device listed..?

What mouse driver do you currently have installed.?

So far ive not noticed it doing it outside of IE ! so maybe IE is to blame?

And Thalamus i only have a ps/2 compatible mouse listed there. cant see any more drivers installed.

Thanks

Hi Todderik18,

try this..

Download the original mouse driver for your Vaio using the following link: NS Pointing Device Driver

Press the windows key+R to open the Run box type devmgmt.msc and press OK

Click Continue on the User Account Control window.

Then right click once on PS2 mouse and select Update Driver Software.

Select Browse my computer for driver software, then click browse and browse to the location of the downloaded Alps driver folder to included it in the search and click next.

Then follow the on screen instructions to finish..

Does it happen under Firefox?

I've seen people say
"If I disable the ActiveX controls/scripting in Internet Explorer's security settings" it fixes it.

Worth a try if your still having issues

I recommend StopMouseJumping to fix this problem.

This software is able to tell apart normal mouse movements from jump-outs.

Normal mouse movements are allowed, jump-outs are filtered out.
Try it:
