Interesting..

I thought some people on here might be interested to read this:

Thank you for your email. I have read with attention your comments.
I need to tell you that there exist different ways to take contact with us, by phone or by email, if you need to obtain support on the Vaio Pocket. The Club Vaio was designed to create a meeting point where customers can exchange their expereience and solutions together. It is not monitored for support or for updates. So you beter understand that there was no lack of respons, as we never
intended to interfere in the information exchange between customers.

Best regards,

Sony VAIO Pocket Support Team

I sent them an email (quite a long time ago) to tell them about the dissatisfied comments people were making about the Vaio, I'd almost given up hope of getting a response, but it's reasonable enough in my opinion. Not wonderful English, but oh well..

Thanks for sharing that with us Ben  I think the take home message of late has got to be:

"The Club Vaio was designed to create a meeting point where customers can exchange their experiences and solutions together. It is not monitored for support or for updates"

Thank you very much indeed, it's a shame they don't put a little statement saying as much somewhere prominent on the CV site.

I totally agree TT, maybe in that whitish/grey box where it says "FORUM, SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS" they should definitely elaborate on this by making it more clear

Yes, I did wonder why they couldn't monitor it, even without posting (ie no one would know they were looking, so it couldn't possibly hinder debate), as this would appear to be the best source of (free) feedback for Sony. And am I the only one who's noticed that (last time I checked) the forum home page had a few forums marked with "Engineers please identify yourselves"?
Also couldn't help slightly modifying one line of their email:
"as we never intended to participate in the information exchange between customers."
