I need to replace my hard drive in VGC-JS2E

Hard drive has completly failed,

There is no volume, just need to confim drive size, believe it is 2.5" SATA

I also need to know how to remove the back cover to replace the drive

It's a 3.5" SATA hard disk drive.

1. Remove the memory bay door.
2. Remove 14 screw covers and the 14 screws under them from the back.
3. Remove 4 screw covers and the 4 screws under them from the bottom.
4. Remove the rear cover towards the top of the unit, while taking care to push the optical drive door out of the way.

you forgot to mention that its a royal pita to remove the screws which are holding the hdd in its cage
