Hi,
I need a bigger HDD in my Vaio. How can I change the HDD? Are there a manual for open a Vaio or something else?
What is important for this "operation"?
Sorry for the bad englisch 🙂 and thanxs a lot...
I believe that the question is...
The computer still in the warranty... ?
In this case, ask about a orientation of the support...
because you can lost if you open the CPU...
If no..., do you have knowledge to do this operation?
I saw information on upgrade of memory, but change of HD doesn't remain...
I believe that I aid of a professional is better to avoid larger boredoms
Take a look at my answer at :

I hope this answer can help you at some way....
Your F707 must be at least 2/3 years old so I guess that the warrantee issue is of no concern.
I have changed the hard drive in my daughters F series and it was straightforward.
IF your notebook is of similar design you will find two screws on the left vertical side of the speaker panel(above the IR sensor). Unscrew these, slide the panel to the right and support it against the screen (take care as there are cables attached).
Remove the screws securing the keyboard; slide the keyboard towards the screen, lift the side facing you and again support it against the screen (again there are cables attached).
The hard disk is now visible and the retaining screws are obvious.
Before carrying out this procedure, disconnect the AC power and remove the battery.
This model should be OK with up to 40GB but a BIOS update may be required if you want more ¿ not certain on this.
Thanx a lot 🙂
I will try this.
Maybe i´ll post some experiences...
You¿re welcome. Let us know how you get on.
